This past Sunday, we unpacked a deep spiritual truth in the message, What Bread Will You Eat? Drawing from John 6:22-40 and other key passages, we explored the choice between two types of bread: the temporary satisfaction of this world and the eternal fulfillment found in Jesus, the Bread of Life.
Many people seek fulfillment in temporary things like wealth, success, or status, but only Jesus can truly satisfy the hunger in our souls. He calls us not just to seek what He can give, but to believe in who He is.
Jesus declared, “I am the Bread of Life” (John 6:35), a statement echoing God’s divine name, “I AM,” from Exodus 3:14. He alone offers eternal sustenance and satisfaction that transcends the fleeting pleasures of this world.
In this sermon, we challenged ourselves to examine our appetites:
- Are you feeding your soul with the temporary or the eternal?
- Do you follow Jesus for who He is or just what He can give?
