BRAVE: The Faith That Frightens the World

BRAVE: The Faith That Frightens the World
2 Chronicles 18:1–13
What kind of faith makes the world tremble? Not the kind that blends in—but the kind that speaks out. The kind that doesn’t play it safe or play with sin. The kind that shakes kingdoms, confronts compromise, and refuses to be silenced.
Life throws chaos at us—tragedy, heartbreak, anger. And in the middle of the mess, we ask, “Where is God?” But maybe the deeper question is, “Where is our faith?” Because the kind of faith that frightens the world isn’t passive—it’s prophetic. It doesn’t echo the crowd—it challenges it.
This kind of faith doesn’t flatter—it exposes. It doesn’t seek applause—it seeks alignment. It’s not interested in popularity; it’s anchored in truth. And when truth sounds like hate, it’s often because people hate conviction. But conviction must outweigh convenience. We weren’t called to be liked—we were called to be light.
Too often, we tolerate what God told us to terminate. We spare what becomes our snare. And compromise puts us in battles we were never meant to fight. That’s what happens when we trade God’s voice for the comfort of consensus.
But there is a kind of believer the world cannot break. One who cannot be bought, bribed, or bullied into silence. Hated—but not hateful. Pressed—but not panicked. Imprisoned—but still proclaiming. The world fears that kind of faith. And the church needs it now more than ever.
So ask yourself:
Can you speak truth when others twist it?
Can you stand firm when the world shouts for you to sit down?
Can you be hated and still walk in holiness?
This is the kind of faith that frightens the world. And it’s the kind we were born to carry.
